(3) Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur
IIT Kharagpur occupied the No.3 position in this list. It is also considered as one of the best government institutions in India, which was founded in 1951. IIT Kharagpur has an 8.5 square kilometres campus. Its considered as the first IITs college of India.

(4) Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi
It was founded in 1961 near Hauz Khas, Delhi. Its campus has an area of 320 acres (or 1.3 km²). It is a Public engineering college which got the No.4 position in this list of Top engineering colleges in India.

(5) Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur
It was established in the year of 1559, located in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh by the state government. It has the campus of 1,000 acres. It occupied the no.5th position in this list.

(6) Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee
IIT Roorkee comes No.6th position in the list of Top engineering colleges in India. It was established in 1847 but it was converted into IIT in 2001. An entrance exam (REE) was conducted by the university converted into an IIT in 2001 and become the seventh IIT to be declared. It has a campus of 25 acres (100,000 m2).

(7) Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati
IIT, Guwahati, Assam come No.7 in the list of Top engineering colleges in India. It is considered as the most beautiful college campus in India. It was established in 1994 by the government of India with a campus of around 2.8 km square.

(8) Anna University, Tamil Nadu
Anna university ranks No.8 on the list. It was established in 1978, located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu by the government of Tamil Nadu. It has a campus of 185 acres.

(9) Jadavpur University, West Bengal
Jadavpur university ranks No.9 on the list of Top engineering colleges in India. It was a public state university located in Kolkata, West Bengal. It was established on 24 Dec 1955 and it operates two campuses one in Jadavpur 58 acres (230,000 m2) and another in Salt Lake 26 acres (110,000 m2).

(10) Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad
It ranks no.10 in the list of Top engineering colleges in India. It was founded in 2008 located in Sangareddy district, Telangana, India.It is one of the youngest IITs.
