Why did Dhoni remove the Logo of Indian Flag from his helmet?
You will feel proud to know why he did that.
You must have seen the Indian flag sticker on the great batsman Sachin Tendulkar’s helmet. If you pay attention to current matches, Dhoni does not take his country’s flag logo on his helmet. Former Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni used to wear a tricolour flag on his helmet while doing the first wicketkeeping but now he has removed the tricolour from his helmet.
The fact is that Social filmmaker and activist P Ullhas had lodged a complaint regarding the issue to Mohali police. “It is illegal to paste tricolour on helmets. Our national pride is disrespected by that, it is shameful to note that the players are seen spitting on the ground where they also put their helmet (when not in use),” said Ullhas, who had brought the matter to skipper MS Dhoni’s notice through Twitter. While Dhoni stopped using the tricolour, others have not; hence he decided to take up the matter.
As a wicketkeeper, Mahendra Singh Dhoni has to take his helmet several times and just have to do the wicketkeeping by wearing a cap. In such a case, the helmets should be kept on the field. Many times in a hurry, the wicketkeepers have to throw the helmets on the ground.
In such a situation, he drops his helmet on the ground, It is not right to put the helmet on the ground. Accidentally we saw several times his helmet might be touched by someone’s feet or sweat or saliva found in the helmets, therefore, he removed the Tricolor from his helmet during the wicketkeeping. As a cricketer, Mahendra Singh Dhoni is also an Army Officer. And he knows how to respect the flag and our country.
